With the Summer holidays now in full swing having a party dress on standby is essential.  The boohoo party dresses  are on trend and affordable.
There is a range of styles from maxi dresses to take you from an afternoon gathering to evening party. As well as sleek colour blocking dresses, prints and body con styles ready for a cocktail party or night out on the town. boohoo AU has shared with me some of their most sought after dresses from the boohoo party dresses range.

Kiera Rose print maxi dress one of the most popular styles from boohoo  in floral print. A more feminine yet still striking look for Summer.

The Laura racer maxi dress is one of  boohoo's staple maxi dresses with a more sophisticated cut.

The Lindy Paisley shift dress and it's stand out contrasting sleeves is a versatile dress change from a casual look by wearing the dress with your haviana's or flats or add heels for evening appeal.

The Maya Scoop neck skater dress belted is a sleek classic look. Which comes in both soft and bold colours so suit the individual, perfect for balancing out your statement accessories or colour blocking.

The Darcey printed long sleeve body con dress takes on an East meets West feel with the bone China inspired print and sleek cut.

The Lorna slit front peplum dress combines sharp lines with the on trend use of the peplum as seen at many of the Spring Summer 2012/13 runways.

The Myer Centre. Celebrating 21 years as an iconic fashion destination

Today 21 years on from it's beginnings the Myer Centre still plays an important part of sustaining retail life in the heart of Adelaide. More importantly delivering fashion brands & retailers we are all familiar with like Whistles, Temt and Jaqui E.
As part of the Adelaide Fashion Festival 2012 it was fitting to celebrate the Myer Centre's 21st Birthday.
Guests were treated to a Mercedes-Benz Fashion week box inspired showcase. The box was a new innovation at MBFWA SS 12/13 where designers showcased their collection in a room with live models standing on boxes or platforms.
Guests where taken on a journey in an intimate showing. Starting off with a 'step back on time ' show by Relax in Vintage to the hot key trends of SS12/13.
Special thanks to Sarah - Jane Hook at Colonial First State Global Asset Management, The Myer Centre, for the invite.

The Fascination with Finesse Models

Three years on from the first Finesse Lingerie showcase, the unique parade is now one of the most highly anticipated and exclusive invite only events of the Adelaide Fashion Festival calendar.

This year's show named Fascination by HS showcased the lingerie by Harris Scarfe and the beauty styling coordinated by Dale Dorning/hair & makeup.

The themed playful styling, rock edge soundtrack, creative choreography along with a few surprises namely a snake and puppy featuring in the parade were combined to make one hell of a show.

The real fascination with this annual show is the calibre of models on the one runway. Some of them have ventured home from abroad to their home agency that is Finesse. Showcasing both up & coming models and the more experienced walkers. It provides a great learning experience and starting platform for the newer models too.

It is of course Finesse Models Director Brigette Mitchell that always finds that special something in the models that are apart of the Finesse Agency family. Another amazing lingerie show in 2012 from Finesse Models & Special thanks to Brigette & the team for the invite.

A Mediterranean Escape, Harris Scarfe launches Spring Summer 2102/13 Collections

The Hilton Adelaide was the backdrop for an exclusive preview of Harris Scarfe's Spring Summer 2012/13 collection. Harris Scarfe has been an retail institution in SA for more than a decade. From my personal experience first as a back of house dresser at a Harris Scarfe runway show in 2007 to viewing the collection in 2012 the brand has come a long way. In terms of both recognising trend importance and style direction for branding to deliver a quality product for today's budget & fashion conscious consumers.

The new season showcases an ultra nautical theme inspired by the isle of Capri to Savannah recaptured old cinema glamour and rocking animal disco prints. The gorgeous girls from Finesse Models Australia showcased the strong nautical theme inspired collection.

Special thanks to the invite from Maree Stoubos & the team at Gray Management and Chris Kontos & Harris Scarfe team.

There was plenty of HEART at nANA jUDY MBFWA onsite closing show.

There's always something a little special about the opening and closing shows of Australian Fashion week, whether it be on-site or off-site productions.

This year I was once again fortunate enough to go behind the scenes at the last show onsite which was nANA jUDY in The Tent. With the Melbourne based label been absent at last years RAFW it was time for Coleman's label to make a standout return with the showcasing of the women's line called HEART by nANA jUDY alongside the labels mens line. An edgy and raw underground vibe was reflected at the show with the band Amy Meredith rocking it out as models powered down the runway thanks to Adelaide's Filip Odzak's choreography.
