A new Sass and Bide era.

There's always a hint of anticipation and excitement when there is a changing of the guard of creative designers at a fashion house. Sass and Bide is no different than the likes of a LVHM brand or any other European brands. There is a fine balance of keeping the essence of DNA of the brand and wanting to make your own statement and pushing the label forward.
Anthony Cuthbertson has brought his experience from consulting at Victoria Beckham and Mulberry to develop a stronger design signature to Sass and Bide without loosing the established essence.
There was a futuristic warrior vibe; with S&B familiarity in the fitted knitted dresses and mosaic mirrored detailing and geometric shapes. Time will tell in seasons to come if Cuthbertson can strengthen the overall look of the brand.

The Zimmermann 70s woman.

Nicky Zimmerman gave a strong nod to 70's styling and aesthetics with her New York fashion week Fall 2015 collection. It was more about the evening party girl and less about day wear with a only a few coats within the collection. There was a generous amount of detail and colour throughout the collection which didn't come across as heavy or bulky for winter. Added by the flowing maxis, short skirts and light blouse silhouettes.

Dion Lee a cutting edge NY Fashion week showcase.

Dion Lee's cutting edge aesthetic was showcased at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week for the Fall 2015 Collections. Bold silhouettes, high shine of fabric, layering of mesh texture and sleek cut-outs featured in the collection.

A wall of mirrors which graded from white to black was the setting for the Myer launch, showcasing the stable of designers for autumn winter 2015. The list of designers reads like the other half of the Mercedes - Benz fashion week pack which showcased at David Jones launch.
A reflection of key looks for autumn winter from 70's, felt hats, bold silhouettes and monochromatic styling vs geometric prints. There was no lack of color including mustard yellows, cobalt blue and vibrant reds.

It's more than just the summer heat we are contending with its also the fashion that is about to drop in Australian retail stores for winter that will be just as hot,Within the next week  we will see the launch of both Australia's major departments stores David Jones and MYER launch their autumn winter ranges. In an age old rivalry much like that of two traditional AFL teams but in the fashion stakes.

David Jones kicks of their launch showcasing the cool stable of designers and brands from the likes of Dion Lee, Josh Goot, Akira and Camilla and Marc. Winter fashion is about bold statement pieces, the return of edgy architectural cuts, punchy prints, texture and less about drab colours and formality.
