Quality not quantity 2011 Retrospective

2011 saw me push past been involved in 50 shows since beginning in the Spring Summer of 2007. Even though this year the number of projects was down the quality was still there. Once again taking a senior and creative role. As well as two successful interstate work related trips to both L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion festival attending Alex Perry SS11/12 and Business seminar and Rosemount Australian Fashion week Spring Summer 2011/12 as an industry delegate.

A Pre show reflection. Chambord Designer showcase AFF 2011

Four years on since the festival's creation it is now a vital part in promoting the growth of South Australian Designers, the retail industry and industry affiliates like bloggers, media and stylists.
Having been involved in some way or another in a back of house capacity each year it was good to take a step back and capture the pre show buzz, anticipation that comes with any runway show.

Paolo Sebastian. The return

There was much anticipation of the return of Paolo Sebastian to Adelaide as part of the Adelaide Fashion Festival, with a lineup to enter the venue similar to that of an Alex Perry show and a full length runway we would surely be in for a treat.

The collection moved gracefully from crisp white chiffon gowns and beaded detailing to a sudden darker mood of black lace and tulle, much like that of the Black Swan ballet piece the collection showcased two very different moods, yet totally working together.

The pacing of the show was steady even though some of the tracks were very uptempo. With the models constantly carrying off a graceful pace on the runway.
